Meet Operative’s executive team

  • As the President, CEO and Founder of Operative, Lorne Brown spearheads the strategic vision of media’s leading digital ad sales platform company.  His 17 years experience in media and infrastructure continues to fuel Operative’s growth as a global organization that manages over $4.8 billion in digital and video ad revenue.

    Previously, at Royal Blue Technologies, Lorne implemented equity trading software at more than half the banks and brokerage houses in New York and London.  It was Lorne’s mission to bring Wall Street automation to the advertising industry. 

    Since inception, Operative has emerged as the leading SaaS platform in media, and is laser-focused on sales automation and the union of television and digital. Lorne has been at the helm of establishing strategic partnerships with premier cable and video brands such as Comcast, Cox Cable, NBCUniversal, CBSi, Turner, A+E, Univision, Vevo and Crackle.

    Lorne serves on the NAB Show Ad Tech Committee and the Alliance for Audited Media Digital Advisory Board.  He has a degree in Finance and Management Information Systems from the State University of New York at Albany.

    Jason Witt is Operative’s Chief Revenue Officer responsible for top-line revenue growth and retention. Prior to Operative, Jason ran his own advisory firm that catered to a variety of communications and media clients across both traditional and emerging platforms. Jason was also the Senior Vice President of Global Revenue at Fox Interactive and founder of MySpace Studios, a marketing, advertising and product development division of Fox. Between 2005 and 2009, Jason served in several executive roles within MTV Networks, including Senior Vice President roles within both Affiliate and Ad Sales and founder and General Manager of Digital Fusion. Early in his career, Jason held leadership positions at AOL focused on content programming, business development and commerce platform development. Jason holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Yale and a graduate degree in law from Columbia University.

    Dave Villano is Operative’s Chief Technology Officer, leading engineering, infrastructure, and the strategic development of Operative’s core software products. Dave has over 20 years of IT experience across multiple industry sectors (financial, pharmaceutical and media). Prior to his current role, Dave served as SVP of Advertising Technology and Operations for Cablevision Media Sales, leading application integration and the development of a business intelligence platform to drive advertising revenue. Previous to his tenure with Cablevision, Dave held multiple senior management positions with Chase, Citicorp and Merck, heading  global development, deployment and operations.

     

  • As Operative’s Chief Services Officer, John Briar manages the Services organization, which consists of professional services, managed services, project management, and technical support services. John provides strategic leadership and creative solutions to the complex problems the industry faces. This includes offering scalability and data driven solutions to media companies, implementing six sigma methodologies to help media companies scale, and developing holistic solutions for clients. John has been a part of Operative since the beginning, and has held several positions touching nearly every aspect of the business. He started his career in the infancy of digital advertising, working at an early digital agency, Beyond Interactive (now MediaCom). John loves the outdoors and is an avid cycler, snowboarder, and fisherman.

    As General Manager, Don Amboyer oversees Operative’s go to market initiatives, leading the intersection of the sales and marketing, customer success, product, and operations teams. Since he joined Operative in 2008, Don has held leadership roles including Vice President of Sales Engineering, responsible for managing Operative’s global sales engineering team and working with prospective clients to define and scope their advertising technology strategy, and most recently, Managing Director, Europe. Prior to joining Operative, Don held a variety of technical and project management roles at software companies including Ford Motor Credit and the Ultimate Software Group and research institutions including Michigan State University.  Don holds a M.Sc. in International Management from the University of London, and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Michigan State University.

    As Chief Legal and Business Affairs Officer, Eli Curi is responsible for overseeing Operative’s legal affairs and holds responsibility for a wide variety of corporate and strategic matters. Eli brings extensive legal and corporate development experience in the technology, Internet, and digital media industries, supporting mid-market private equity and emerging growth companies. Prior to joining Operative, Eli was a Partner at the top-tier international law firm of SNR Denton (formerly Sonnenschein), where he served as Co-Head of Digital Media in the venture capital and emerging growth department, focused on private equity and venture capital transactions, corporate mergers and acquisitions, secured finance transactions, and joint ventures and strategic alliances. He has over a decade of experience working with successful start-ups and technology companies from formation through exit. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago, and a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law.

  • Rick Glickman is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Operative Media and leads the company in financial and human resource matters. Rick brings more than 25 years of experience in expanding high-growth companies, with significant expertise in revenue growth, budgeting/forecasting, M&A, tax and audit issues as well as international management. Prior to Operative, Rick served as the EVP and CFO of Teliris, Inc, a telepresence and videoconferencing company. Glickman worked closely with its investors and management team to improve the company’s financial performance and helped negotiate one of the largest telepresence contracts in the industry at the time. Teliris’ position within the market ultimately led to the sale of the company to Dimension Data. Prior to his tenure with Teliris, Glickman was the CFO of EYP Mission Critical Facilities, Inc., a private equity backed company specializing in strategic technology planning, design, and operation of critical facilities where his tenure culminated in the sale to Hewlett-Packard. Rick began his career with KPMG in public accounting and subsequently joined the advertising agency, J. Walter Thompson Company before joining DMR Consulting Group, a global IT consulting firm where he served as the Chief Financial Officer for the U.S. Division. Rick also served as the EVP and CFO of Thrupoint, an IT consulting firm for major financial institutions, service providers, and Fortune 500 companies, during which time the company experienced significant revenue growth and market expansion throughout the US and Europe. Rick holds a degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware.
